Mitchell is formerly publisher and chief executive officer of KPC Media Group, Inc., a privately owned group of three daily newspapers and eight weekly newspapers in northeast Indiana. He was also a group publisher for Gatehouse Media, Inc., overseeing operations of six daily newspapers and 13 weekly newspapers in Kansas, Colorado and California and a group publisher for Paxton Media Group in Indiana. Mitchell began his career with the Sentinel & Enterprise in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1981.
Mitchell is a former United Way board member and has served on the boards of multiple chambers of commerce. He is a former member of the Wabash County Rotary in Indiana.
