DAVENPORT, Iowa (January 2, 2019) — Lee Enterprises, Incorporated (NYSE: LEE), a trusted local news provider and leading platform for advertising in 49 markets, has selected Michelle Pazar as publisher of the Central Illinois Newspaper Group. She succeeds Julie Bechtel, who was named executive vice president of BH Media Group in August of 2018.

“Michelle has a wealth of experience in the central Illinois market,” said Lee Vice President and Group Publisher Chris White. “She’s proven herself to be a talented and creative leader while advancing through the ranks in Bloomington and while serving as publisher there in an interim role. I’m excited by the energy and skill she brings to the publisher’s position.”

Pazar was named regional advertising director in 2018, leading advertising operations in central Illinois including Bloomington, Decatur and Mattoon. She has served as advertising director for the Pantagraph in Bloomington since 2015. Pazar first joined Lee as an advertising services representative in 2006 and was promoted to her first management post in 2010.

“I am very grateful to be named publisher in central Illinois,” Pazar said. “I have great confidence in our staff and look forward to building on past successes while also creating new areas of opportunity for the company.”

Pazar was named to the 20 Under 40 Class in McLean County in 2015 and is a member of the American Marketing Association. She is a 2006 graduate of Illinois State University.
